My name is Paul
Lucas. I am the Democratic candidate for
the California State Assembly, in the 68th Assembly
District. I am a native of Orange County. My family
history in OC goes back four generations.
The 68th AD encompasses the whole City of Costa Mesa
and portions of the following cities: Fountain Valley,
Garden Grove, Anaheim, Westminister, and Stanton.
I am running for the Assembly seat to bring a sense
of balance and values back to Orange County. I want
to represent the people of my generation, the previous
generation, and the next, and address the issues we
all have in common.
Please see the section entitled On The Issues for my
position statements on issues we all face.
I work in the Environmental Science and Engineering
field for a private company in Irvine. My area of expertise
is in Water Quality and water pollution prevention.
I have worked for the County of Orange monitoring bacteria
levels along the coast for public health.
While
in college, I worked in Washington DC for local member
of the House of Representatives, Loretta Sanchez. In
that assignment, I worked on a variety of issues for
the House Armed Services Committee, Education, and assisted
constituents by mail or phone.
After returning from Washington, I worked for Senator
Joe Dunn, the man who cracked Enron in the district
office. In that assignment, I assisted constituents
with various issues and government services. My main
project in Senator Dunn's office was to head up the
unclaimed property project in which I located money,
property and other personal items held by the State
of California Treasurer for constituents who have forgotten
or were unaware of the items.
